The Halton Region Small Business Centre Celebrates International Women’s Day

Women Entrepreneurs

International Women’s Day is Tuesday, March 8, 2016.  It’s a day to celebrate the cultural, economic, social and political achievements of women all over the globe. The theme for this year is Pledge for Parity.  The Halton Region Small Business Centre will once again recognize this annual celebration by hosting a business event on Wednesday, March 9, specifically directed to female entrepreneurs.

Connect, Teach, Inspire is the 2016 theme for the Halton Region Small Business Centre International Women’s Day Event. Participants are encouraged to network, build connections, share stories and meet other small business owners in the community. The event will also feature inspiring guest speakers and interactive workshops.

The opening speaker, Carolyne Rashford, a professional speaker and coach, pulls from her experience as a police officer, working mother and first generation immigrant to connect with her audience. The event will also include a presentation – Invisible to Invincible by Suzanne Longstreet. Suzanne’s mission is to coach women entrepreneurs in their life & business with integrity, excellence & respect to gain clarity, discover their power and connect with their passion to succeed and prosper while working smarter, not harder.

Participants will also hear two local spotlight stories from female clients of the Halton Region Small Business Centre.  They will share some of their personal business experiences and explain what has helped them to get where they are today in their businesses.

Please join us on March 9 for this special event!  It will take place at the OE Banquet Hall & Conference Centre from 7:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  The registration cost is $35.00. For more event details, please visit halton.ca/businesswomen or dial 311.
