Aspiring Young Entrepreneurs – Starter Company Success Stories

The Halton Region Small Business Centre has assisted in the success of launching six start-up companies and helping these young entrepreneurs receive a $5000 grant, through the Starter Company program.

The Starter Company program provides business skills training and development to youth from the ages of 18 to 29.  The program helps with understanding business plan development and operations and if successful, the opportunity to apply for a grant of up to $5,000.00.

The six young entrepreneurs who have been awarded the $5000 grant thus far are:

Headquartered in Georgetown, Alias Apps strives to provide its clients with professionally coded and non-outsourced apps at affordable rates.  All of the coding, testing and design will be done in house to ensure that all of the apps meet or surpass industry standards.  Alias Apps was Halton’s first recipient of the $5000 Starter Company Grant.

Molly Burke is a young motivational speaker from Oakville.  Molly openly shares her experiences of losing her sight, overcoming adversity and embracing diversity, connecting with her audiences at a very personal, relatable level. The $5,000 Starter Company grant will be instrumental in helping Molly expand the reach of her motivational speaking company, helping to inspire even more people to reach their true potential.
