International Women’s Day is Saturday, March 8, 2014. The Halton Small Business Centre will once again recognize this annual celebration by hosting a business event on Wednesday, March 5, specifically directed to female entrepreneurs. The event will provide local female entrepreneurs with an opportunity to listen to others’ experiences, attend educational sessions and take part in networking sessions with fellow female entrepreneurs and small business owners.
The opening speaker, Fay Chapple, an international speaker, author, success coach and entrepreneur, will share moments from her life story and lessons learned. The event will also include two presentations, offering tips and ideas that participants can use in their own business. The first presentation will focus on the value of networking and making connections. Audie McCarthy from The Marrek Group will share her networking expertise with participants. The second presentation will focus on outsourcing, specifically related to bookkeeping (we all know how important the numbers are each month). Juliet Aurora, from AIS Solutions will discuss whether it’s better to outsource bookkeeping services or maintain them in-house and what costs could be associated with this decision.
Participants will also hear two local spotlight stories from female clients of the Halton Region Small Business Centre. They will share some of their personal business experiences and explain what has helped them to get where they are today in their businesses.
Please join us on March 5 for this special event! It will take place at the OE Banquet Hall & Conference Centre from 7:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The registration cost is $30.00. For more event details, please visit www.halton.ca/businessevents.
