On Thursday, February 24th, Halton Region’s Small Business Centre will host “Bridges to Better Business – Stand Out in a Crowd: Marketing Strategies for Success” at the Oakville Conference Centre. This learning and networking event for Halton Region business owners will feature a presentation by Ron Buist, the former Marketing Director for Tim Hortons and creator of the company’s popular “ROLL UP THE RIM TO WIN” contest.
An annual event, Bridges combines a key note presentation with break out sessions and networking opportunities. In addition to another dynamite key note speaker and panel discussion, this year we’ve included more time for networking, something our registrants from last year requested.
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions of a local panel of experts. This is something new that we tried last year and it worked wonderfully. We’ve brought together three successful local small business owners who are going to take questions and share marketing strategies they use to grow their businesses in Halton. All three panel members run very different business and we can’t wait to hear their stories.
- Anne Day is founder of the Company of Women and winner of the 2008 Entrepreneur of the Year Award presented by the Oakville Awards for Business Excellence. Anne founded the Company of Women in 2003. Today, the organization has over 400 members from across the GTA and beyond.
- Sue London is a blog talk radio host, therapist, reiki master, life coach, author & motivational speaker. Sue’s story is truly inspirational. She won “The Business Mastery Award” Oct. 2007 – an award given for having a business of helping others.
- Bill Coleman is co-owner and new president of Cameron’s Brewing Company of Oakville. Bill worked for Molson for several years and among other marketing initiatives was responsible for marketing the two flagship brands, Canadian and Export. He led the development of the award winning TV, radio and print ads for the “I am…Canadian” campaign.
Visit our blog next week to learn more about the event, our key note speaker and Paula Hope of the Referral Institute-Peel-Halton who will be speaking on Creating Referrals for Live.
